The Friday Backpack Program serves the needs of hungry children at Greenwood, Island City, and Central Schools. Items accepted: canned soup, fruit snacks, tuna fish, instant oatmeal, mac & cheese, protein bars, chili, pudding cups and granola bars. Foods must meet 3 of the following requirements: 275 calories or fewer  per serving, 10 grams or fewer of total fat, 2 or more grams of fiber, 17 grams of sugar or less, at least 3 grams of protein.

Text4baby is a new, free mobile information services providing timely health information to pregnant women and new moms from pregnancy through a baby's first year. An educational program of the National Health Mothers, Healthy Babies Coalition, (HMHB)text4baby provides participants with information to help them care for their health and give their babies the best possible start in life.
 
To sign up for the service, text "BABY" to 511411 or "BEBE" in Spanish). Participants will receive 3 free SMS text messagees each week, timed to their due date or baby's date of birth. Messages will focus on a variety of topics critical to maternal and child health, including postpartum support.
